“I grew up in a small town in a hard working family, where I lived at home and worked in construction with my father to make my way through college. I know what it is like to be ill and not be able to get the care you need. When I became a physician I made a commitment to myself to build a service based practice to give my patients what they really need. My promise to you is that I will provide you the best care that I can give and treat you like I would treat any member of my own family. Come on in and see us!”

Biography

Raymond W. Blair, Jr., MD was raised in Little Elm, Texas. Actually, he grew up on a dirt road in Denton County outside the city limits of Little Elm. Dr. Blair graduated from Little Elm High School. He worked doing construction with his father, Ray Blair throughout high school and college. He came from a hard working family and learned early on the importance of an honest hard day’s work. Dr. Blair and his Dad built a few homes, learned to operate several different types of heavy equipment, and the end of his construction career was primarily as a welder for his Dad building fences and buildings. He worked doing construction with his Dad right up until he began medical school. Dr. Blair attended the University of North Texas in Denton just 20 miles from home. He chose UNT because it was nearby home. Dr. Blair worked hard in college and slowly but surely (5.5 yrs) got his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. After he completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX, he chose to complete his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth at the largest family medicine residency program in the country. He was Vice President of House staff in 2005-2006 and then Chief Resident in 2006-2007. These were both great honors because he was elected by his peers for these duties. Dr. Blair completed his residency training at JPS in July 2007 and contracted with Ennis Regional Medical Center to open his own practice in Ennis, TX in August 2007.
